Only in the swell season, roughly October to March, and only when a big system lines up — the forecast decides, not the calendar. On those days the fort viewpoint is packed and charges entry, the wind carries salt spray over everything, and long lenses are needed to make the surfers read at all. Never follow anyone down onto the rocks below.
