Jose Santos

José Luís Melo Santos, born on October 6, 1957, a native of Vila do Porto, Santa Maria Island, currently resides in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island. From an early age, he was passionate about the art of photography, a passion inherited from his late father, practiced with his "Voiglander . Vaskar 1:4.5/105 - 6 x 9 (1947-50)" camera. Owner of the "Magic Dreams Photo Studio" photography studio, located in Paim, Ponta Delgada, he loves to record moments that immortalize life stories. He photographs mainly heritage, landscapes, wildlife, and product photography. His preference is to photograph people. At the top of his preferences are children and the elderly, who, through their genuineness, facial beauty, and age lines, convey life knowledge, wisdom, but also suffering. He is the author of hundreds of photographic reports of wedding and baptism ceremonies, as well as photography in school environments. José Santos is a member of the Portuguese Association of Image Professionals (APPIMagem) and holds several qualifications. In 1980, he attended his first black and white photography course with the techniques of revelation. With the transformation from analog photography to the digital age, she attended training courses to adapt to digital photography, as well as in the area of ​​editing: Photoshop and Lightroom, and workshops in the area of ​​photography: Commercial, Mastering Light, and advertising in the food industry. She has training in the area of ​​Newborn photography with José Cruz, photographer and international judge of newborn photography (Initial and Advanced Courses), and training in "Boudoir & Glamour" photography, a type of photography that enhances the essence and sensitivity of women when captured in a careful and unique way, promoting female self-esteem.
