Photoshoots in Nazaré start from €279, with most one- to two-hour packages between €279 and €450 depending on duration, the number of edited photos and whether you cover both the beach and the clifftop at Sítio. Nazaré is about ninety minutes from Lisbon, so a photographer travelling out may add a travel fee.

Nazaré is two different places depending on the season. From October to March the canyon offshore sends in the giant swells the town is famous for, with wind, spray and crowds on the headland. Only in the swell season, roughly October to March, and only when a big system lines up — the forecast decides, not the calendar. On those days the fort viewpoint is packed and charges entry, the wind carries salt spray over everything, and long lenses are needed to make the surfers read at all. Never follow anyone down onto the rocks below.

Full-day packages of up to 16 hours are available for extended celebrations that start with morning preparations and continue through a late-night party or after-party.
