The marina with its yachts and waterfront walk, the orange and ochre cliffs of Praia da Falésia stretching six kilometres east, the pines and boardwalks along the top of the cliff, the Roman ruins of Cerro da Vila beside the harbour, and the wide open sand of Praia da Rocha Baixinha at low tide.

Falésia is a sunrise beach: the cliffs face roughly south-east and turn deep orange in the first light, with almost nobody on the sand. By midday the colour flattens and the loungers fill up.
