The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — choose complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid colors and muted tones (navy, cream, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Portugal's warm-toned architecture and lush green landscapes. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, or neon colors that can distract from you as a couple. Comfortable shoes are essential, especially in Lisbon and Porto where cobblestone streets and hillside viewpoints are common. Bring a second outfit if you'd like variety — many couples change halfway through longer sessions. Golden hour — the hour after sunrise or before sunset — provides the most flattering, warm, romantic light and is universally recommended by professional photographers. In Portugal, sunset times range from around 5:30pm in winter to 9:00pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions in Lisbon and Porto are especially popular because the westward-facing viewpoints catch the light over the river and rooftops beautifully. Sunrise shoots are quieter and give you famous landmarks nearly to yourselves, which is ideal for Sintra or heavily touristed areas. Photoshoots in Vilamoura start from €310, with most one- to two-hour packages between €310 and €450 depending on duration, the number of edited photos and the locations covered. The marina and Praia da Falésia are a few minutes apart, so both fit into a standard session. Edited galleries usually arrive within about a week.

The marina with its yachts and waterfront walk, the orange and ochre cliffs of Praia da Falésia stretching six kilometres east, the pines and boardwalks along the top of the cliff, the Roman ruins of Cerro da Vila beside the harbour, and the wide open sand of Praia da Rocha Baixinha at low tide.

Falésia is a sunrise beach: the cliffs face roughly south-east and turn deep orange in the first light, with almost nobody on the sand. By midday the colour flattens and the loungers fill up. Evening light on the marina is warm and the boats catch it well. Summer is busy and hot; May and October give the same light with more space.
