Daria was truly helpful from all perspectives. She gave me a lot of options of proposal places to choose from and gave a lot of good advices about the perfect time, she was constantly checking the weather the days before the proposal to make sure that we will get the perfect moment. I am more than grateful for finding her because she was very very patient with me when I changed my locations, date and the time of proposal multiple times because of the weather. She didn't have to do that but she went that extra step that differentiates a true professional that loves what he does from a photographer that does this only for money and she even went in person, on her own expenses, in different places to check the weather and the view days before our proposal photo session. Where Madeira shoots happen
- Pico do Arieiro at sunrise. More than 1,800 metres up, with the road almost to the top. On many mornings you stand above a sea of cloud, though not on all of them. It is cold and windy before dawn, even in August.
- Ponta de São Lourenço early. The bare eastern peninsula: red and ochre cliffs, sea on both sides, no shade and plenty of wind. Go in the morning, before the heat and the walkers.
- Fanal. Old laurel trees on the high plateau in the north-west, often wrapped in fog, which is the point. Cows graze among the trees.
- Câmara de Lobos. The fishing village just west of Funchal: colourful boats pulled up on the shore around a small bay. Best in the late afternoon.
- Funchal's old town. The painted doors of Rua de Santa Maria, the seafront and the market. Compact, close to everything and easy with children.
