Adding Cabo Espichel, fifteen minutes west, usually turns it into a longer booking. Sesimbra is forty minutes from Lisbon, so a travel fee may apply.

The Moorish castle on the ridge with the bay far below, the seafront fort of Santiago, the boats and nets of the Porto de Abrigo, the sheltered town beach, the clifftop sanctuary and lighthouse at Cabo Espichel, and the small turquoise cove of Ribeira do Cavalo just west of town.

The bay faces south and is sheltered, so the water stays calm and the light is even for most of the day. Cabo Espichel is the opposite: exposed, windy and spectacular into the sunset.
